Luis Fuentes, D.O.

Resident

Dr. Luis Fuentes was born and raised in Laredo, Texas. He loves his home town and he loves the culture of the border town in which he grew up. Dr. Fuentes attend Texas A&M International University in Laredo, Texas. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in psychology. Dr. Fuentes always knew he wanted to hold a career in medicine. It was through experiences he gained during his college years that strengthened his love for helping others. Dr. Fuentes is the first person in his family to attend and graduate from college. He attended the University of North Texas Health Science Center for his medical training. The Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine was his first choice for medical training because of the Osteopathic Philosophy. Dr. Fuentes believes that the art of medicine revolves around the patient and not just symptoms. He attended school in Fort Worth Texas but his passion continued to reside in the southern part of Texas. With this in mind, Dr. Fuentes decided to return to south Texas to practice medicine. He thankfully matched into his current Family Medicine Residency training program and has been living in Corpus Christi ever since. Dr. Fuentes is very family driven and enjoys traveling to Laredo to see his family often; he has three younger siblings that keep him very busy. Dr. Fuentes enjoys time with family, dancing, reading, and watching movies.

Vincent Hamo, D.O.

Resident

I graduated with an undergraduate degree in Economics from The University of Michigan, then went on to medical school at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and graduated in 2015. Before medical school I used to work as a Paramedic / Firefighter, performed my training in Florida and worked both there and in southeast Michigan where I was initially born and raised. I chose to come to South Texas for my residency training because I could not shovel snow any longer, and it is a great place to train with a lot of pathology and a lot of people in need of physicians. I was looking for a place to move to for training that I could possibly settle long term, that was a place conducive to raising my rather large family. I am married and have 6 children, so I do not have much free time for extracurricular activities, however, when the opportunity arises, I like to play golf and hockey and spend time with my family. After residency training, I am looking forward to setting up a private practice and helping my patients reach the healthiest life they can.
